Norwegian musician, recording engineer and mastering engineer at Malabar Studio and Strype Audio, Oslo, Norway.

 

Martin started his recording and production career when his hardcore punk/post rock band The Spectacle recorded their albums from 2002–2005, the last of which («I, Fail» 2005) was recently rated among Norways 100 best albums of all time. He later joined indie pop group Cold Mailman, and has since engineered all their albums. The music video for their song «Time is of the essence» became an online hit in the summer of 2011, with close to half a million views within a few months. Known for their soundscape featuring large amounts of subtle details behind reserved vocals, Cold Mailman has gathered a steady following of fans. They are currently working on a new album at Malabar Studio. 
 

While studying audio engineering (2006–2009), Martin also started recording other bands, including several from his own home town. Kråkesølv's debut record rocketed them to national fame and acclaim, and Martin has worked closely with them ever since. Their first album was nominated and their second was awarded Norwegian grammy for «Pop group of the year». They are currently working on their third album with Martin doing the production.
 

Martin also remembers his past from the D.I.Y punk scene, and has worked closely with the dark and dynamic doom metal band Kollwitz. Their first album was a break from the traditional metal sound of screaching treble and squashed dynamics, featuring a vast dynamic range and a convincing reproduction of the band. They are currently working on their second album with Martin.

In 2010 Martin joined one of Norways oldest and most profilated mastering studios, Strype Audio. Debuting his mastering career with Cold Mailmans luscious sounding «Relax; the mountain will come to you», Martin perfected the sound of the record he had already recorded and mixed himself. He firmly belives that his involvement in every step of the record production process gives him a better understanding of each of them.
